Your cervical spine (neck) supports and protects some very valuable cargo, your brain, brain stem, and spinal cord. Because of this fact you would assume that neck would be very stable and stiff, instead, the neck needs mobility in order for your eyes to work to the best of their ability. But if you’ve ever woken up with a “crick” in your neck, you know how bad it feels when your neck is stiff. The neck is similar to the Lumbar Spine, joints in the back and a disc for cushion in between each vertebrae. Pain is caused by immobility, but immobility can be caused for a variety of reasons including Osteoarthritis, Bulging Discs, and Tempromandibular Dysfunction.
